Overview
Air fryers have earned their place as a kitchen staple, and the Cosori Pro series consistently ranks among the top choices. We tested the Cosori Pro 5.8-Quart model over eight weeks, cooking everything from frozen French fries to fresh chicken thighs to roasted broccoli.
Key Features
- 5.8-Quart Square Basket: The square design maximizes usable space — enough to fit a whole chicken or a large batch of fries.
- 11 Preset Cooking Functions: From steak to shrimp to frozen foods, the presets offer a solid starting point.
- Temperature Range 170°F–400°F: Wide range covers everything from gentle warming to high-heat crisping.
- Dishwasher-Safe Basket: The nonstick basket and crisper plate both go in the dishwasher.
- Shake Reminder: A mid-cook reminder to shake the basket ensures even results.
Performance: What We Cooked
French fries: Outstanding. Both fresh-cut and frozen fries came out evenly golden with a genuinely crisp exterior.
Chicken wings: Perhaps the most impressive result. The skin rendered out to a crispy, crackling texture reminiscent of deep-fried wings. Wings took 22–25 minutes at 400°F with a mid-cook flip.
Salmon fillets: Moist, flaky, and perfectly cooked in 10–12 minutes at 380°F.
Reheating: Leftover pizza, fried chicken, and spring rolls all emerged crisp and genuinely restaurant-quality.
Pros
- Consistently excellent cooking results across a wide variety of foods
- Square basket shape makes loading and unloading easier
- Cleanup is straightforward — nonstick coating and dishwasher-safe basket
- Preheats in under 3 minutes
- Quieter than most competing models
- App integration (Pro LE model) is well-designed and actually useful
Cons
- 5.8-quart is sufficient for 2–4 people, but larger families may want 6.8-quart
- Cooking high-moisture foods may require checking earlier than indicated
- Display is bright — potentially an issue in open-plan spaces
- No window to monitor cooking without pulling out the basket
Our Verdict
The Cosori Pro Air Fryer is one of the best appliances you can add to a modern kitchen. It does what it promises, the results are genuinely excellent, and the price is fair for the quality and capacity you get. We give it our full recommendation.
