Gardener's Supply Company occupies an interesting position in the garden market — employee-owned, values-driven, and consistently priced higher than big-box alternatives. After seeing their raised bed kits recommended repeatedly in gardening communities, we decided to order and test their products ourselves.
We purchased the Raised Bed Garden Kit (4x8 feet), a compost bin, and a selection of hand tools. All arrived well-packaged, with detailed assembly and care instructions included.
The raised bed kit uses thick, rot-resistant wood and metal corner brackets that feel genuinely durable. Assembled, it doesn't flex, shift, or show any weakness under soil pressure. The compost bin is similarly well-constructed — thicker plastic than comparable products from Home Depot, with a better-fitting lid that actually keeps pests out.
Everything costs more than you'd pay at a home improvement store. The raised bed kit is roughly 40% more expensive than a comparable big-box option. Whether that premium is worth it depends on how long you want the product to last — the Gardener's Supply kit should outlast two or three budget alternatives.
